From San Juan Island to South Whidbey Island, a rich offering of artisan foods is literally waiting to be discovered. As part of a multi-community initiative, EFP is leading the effort to develop a distribution link that will bring these artisan foods to individuals, retailers, schools and restaurants by creating an alliance of producers and linking them with our key distributor from the San Juan Island School District Pilot Project.

We are currently working towards enhancing and developing local value-added processing capacity, storage and transportation capabilities, and initial customer base to begin making this historic run. This will serve as a prototype for developing other sub-links for local product while creating a local food economy, providing small artisan producers with new markets, and beginning a linkage process that will benefit the community for years to come.
