about

The act of sharing food is a vital component to the human experience. When families come together around the table to eat, it is a special opportunity for open conversation, understanding and bonding.

Research also shows that children who frequently sit down to a meal with their parents tend to have healthier eating habits than those children who rarely do, and are at lower risk for behaviors such as smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs. Unfortunately, fewer and fewer families are eating together on a regular basis and family meal times have diminished significantly over the past two decades.

Experience Food Project (EFP) is working with families to change that. Through programs like Connect, Create, Communicate, Community Feasting and Harvest Celebrations, EFP is helping families by encouraging time at the table and providing fun and engaging tools for bringing everyone together.
